Types Of Slurry Pump Impellers And Their Compatibility

According to the characteristics of the slurry (such as particle size and concentration), impeller designs are divided into three types:

Closed Impellers: Have front and back shrouds, high hydraulic efficiency, suitable for slurries with a small amount of fine particles; prone to clogging.

Semi-Open Impellers: Only have a back shroud, can handle larger particles, balancing efficiency and passage capability.

Open Impellers: No shrouds, best passage capability, suitable for large particles and high concentration slurries, but with lower efficiency.
